A scheduling app puts jobs on a calendar and sends a crew to the right address. Management software does that, then handles everything the job creates afterward. Invoicing turns a finished visit into a bill without anyone retyping line items. Payroll turns completed visits into paychecks: hourly, per-job, or commission, depending on how you pay cleaners. Payment processing lets a client pay the invoice directly instead of you chasing a check. Client records store the gate code, the dog's name, the recurring-visit history, and which cleaner the customer keeps requesting. Some vendors add commission tracking on top of that, useful if part of a cleaner's pay depends on upsells or tips logged on the job. ZenMaid: payroll and QuickBooks, but only at Pro

ZenMaid's Starter plan ($19/month) covers scheduling and booking forms but caps out at 40 appointments/mo: a crew running four recurring visits a day blows through that in under two weeks. The back-office features this page is about, payroll and QuickBooks sync, don't show up until Pro ($39/month), which also removes the appointment cap and adds GPS tracking. Pro Max ($49/month) adds PTO tracking, service ratings, full SMS and email templates, Mailchimp and Zapier connections, and priority support. Every ZenMaid tier is flat: no per-cleaner fee as you hire, unlike Jobber and Housecall Pro. The one number ZenMaid doesn't publish is SMS pricing, which bills separately. Worth flagging: Pro Max's $49/month is the same monthly price as Jobber's Core plan, not cheaper, just a different set of tools for the same money.

Jobber: QuickBooks gated at Connect, job costing at Grow

Jobber Core ($49/month, $29/month billed annually) covers one user: quoting, scheduling, and invoicing, no payroll, no QuickBooks. QuickBooks sync arrives at Connect ($139/month, $99/month annual, up to 5 users), alongside automated reminders, payment collection, and time tracking, the tier where Jobber starts acting like management software instead of a scheduler. Job costing, the feature that tells you whether a job actually made money after materials and labor, waits until Grow ($199/month, $149/month annual, up to 10 users), which also adds two-way SMS and custom automations. Every Jobber plan charges $29/mo per extra user, published up front for every tier, unlike Housecall Pro, which only discloses that fee on its top plan. Housecall Pro: QuickBooks Online and Desktop, commissions, starting at Essentials

Housecall Pro Basic ($79/month, $59/month annual, 1 user) covers scheduling and invoicing, no accounting sync, no commission tracking. Essentials ($189/month, $149/month annual, up to 5 users) is where the back office shows up: QuickBooks sync for both Online and Desktop versions (Jobber and ZenMaid list QuickBooks sync without specifying Desktop support, Housecall Pro is the only one here that names both), employee GPS tracking, flat-rate pricing books, job checklists, and commission tracking, the feature that matters if any of your cleaners get paid a percentage of the job instead of a flat hourly rate. MAX ($329/month, $299/month annual, up to 8 users) adds advanced custom reporting, a dedicated onboarding rep, the Sales Proposal Tool, and Recurring Service Plans. Running a bigger operation? Per-user pricing works against you

Once you're past about twelve cleaners, per-user pricing on any of the three vendors above starts costing more than a flat-rate alternative. Service Fusion charges nothing extra per user on any plan: Starter is $208/month billed annually with unlimited users. Compare that to Jobber Grow at $149/month annual for 10 users: add two more cleaners at $29 each and you're paying $207/month for 12 people, almost exactly what Service Fusion charges for an unlimited crew.
